Question Fuel, Temperature Gauge 1992 Corolla

The fuel and temperature gauges on my 1992 Corolla go all the way up while the engine is running. I have replaced the temperature sender, checked the fuel level sender and wiring on the instrument panel everything seems to be fine.

I would appreciate any help.

Also when the engine is running the voltage goes to 14.30 volts is there a regulator somewhere to keep the voltage down to 12V.

Thanks

I had the same problem, tried several things, and it turned out to be the temperature/fuel gauge itself (in the instrument cluster/panel). I ended up buying a used instrument cluster on eBay for $15, and I swapped out the temperature/fuel gauge. (You could also take the new cluster and swap out your speedometer/odometer). It works perfectly now. I saw a 92 Toyota Corolla cluster on eBay this week:

Re: Fuel, Temperature Gauge 1992 Corolla

14.30 volts is right where it should be. A fully charged battery is around 13.9V. The alternator should not put out more than 15V, if it is, then you have a regulator problem.
