180 degree turn in s13

i've been trying to follow the guidelines from the drift bible, i have a question because i keep having trouble doing the 180 degree turn. I will go about 35 then pull the e-brake, put clutch in, and turn the wheel all the way around, but i only can get like 150-160 degrees, it's really frustrating. Do you think it could be my suspension or just technique, because im not sure what im doing wrong, any suggestions would be appreciated.

i think 35 is good enough, it may be alittle to fast. only turn the wheel alittle and pull the ebrake all the way.

Well, are you turning away from it first, yanno, before you go into the slide? to build momentum? Set the bible away and use common sense when your out there. Just once. At 35 you dont even need the e-brake. just whip it real hard. it works.

Wanted: Some sort of 15-16x7-8" mesh wheels, black w/polished lip. And a nice offset.

Whipping it "real hard" without the handbrake usually just makes understeer... Unless you floor it at the same time.

Keiichi just turns into it, therefore he must be right.

I pull a 180 at about 20mph.. and I usualy spin too far, as much as 270*
You certainly don't need new suspention, stock does it easyer imo, because you turn one way to build up power in the springs, then whip it around the other way, that's probably the most important thing to do, and if you do it right, your biggest problem will be spinning too much.

By the way, is a 180 from rest called a J turn? Or is it something else, cause thats what every one I know calls it.

Keep it in the parking lot guys =D

tonight was a great night, i was able to do the 180 degree turn, and- under- i didnt have to turn the car the other way then swing it back to build momentum either, that is used more for the faint drift because im not going that fast from what i understand. But i went about 35 or 40, pulled e-brake, stepped the clutch in and turned all the way, about 140 degrees i let go of the steering wheel, and what do you know, good ol' countersteering turned me around, i should have noticed that earlier....but im just trying to learn these things that's why im practicing.

i practice in a church parking lot, which is only visible from where i turn into the parking lot, all i do is watch to see if cars are coming and if i see on i will stop, then after they go away i continue, a cop did come the other day and asked what we were doing, i said just practicing with my car because i just got it, and he said just dont burn any rubber and be safe, and he left, another cop last night drove by but either he didnt care or he didnt see us, but i live in a kinda small town so there isnt many places to practice =(

Re: 180 degree turn in s13

Haha, small town? Thats a good thing. Or at least it is here. Many many backroads. Lots of just uninhabited places where buildings and such used to be. And one thing that i found out that was really fun......long twisty gravel roads. Haaaaaa that was a blast. It hasnt rained since i got the car, but the first time it does...the popo station has a really nice parking lot that we wanna go "look at". Haha dont ask, it was Dads idea.
