trunk release for 97

does anyone know where the trunk release is for my 97 buick le saber. I have looked everywhere and cannot find it if there is even one. I have looked under the dash, in the ash tray in the glove box and by the seat. I spent 1 hr looking for the trunk release and came up empty. I am very frustrated and hope that someone can help me.

did you look at the wood grain just to the laft of the steering column? There should be buttons for the fuel door and the trunk.

Do you have the fuel door button?

It may be built into the lower dash, in the left.

Re: trunk release for 97

The 97 lesabre has a very similar dash to the 91-96 park avenues, It SHOULD be on that woodgrain to the left of the steering wheel, perhaps it's a messed up wood grain, and the buttons are concealed beneath it, it just pops off. This is a very farfetched idea.

Re: trunk release for 97

This may seem simple, but are you sure it has a trunk release?

Re: trunk release for 97

The 97-later regals did not have an in car trunk release, I've ridden in 97 Lesabres before, the trunk release was always where I said it was.

My '97 LeSabre Limited had the trunk release as described, to the left of the steering column on the wood grain trim. A rectangular black button with the word "Trunk" on it in white. Also was on the key fob remote and of course, the trunk can be opened with a key.

Re: trunk release for 97

Are you sure you have a 97 and not a 98? 98's are lower on the dash, and are recessed into it near the door.
