Body kit = bolt on or mold on?
If i ever wanted to put a body kit on my mx-3, what do you think would be the best way of putting it on my car? Here in Canada, theres winters so unless your gonna put her away for the winter, you cant really mold it on... Altough its much nicer molded on, i need the mx-3 for the winter... So what im asking is, is it even possible to "bolt on" a kit? and how much work does it take to do, or should i pay a shop to do it? and for the molding, if i ever wanted to do that, how much would it cost to get a shop to do it?

from what I understood kits normally do bolt on... then people get the parts molded to the body to the car so it looks more professional. it is the little stuff which wins car shows. but molding is the second part usually.

Tristan..if you want to invest into a bodykit you have invest into a winterbeater for sure...trust me...get a kit and then get it molded by a shop buy a winterbeater and you'll be happy

lol, i guess my winter beater can be the bus
 , but what would be so bad if you just took off ur kit? i know the salt blah blah but u know, wouldnt be that bad would it? PS : its impossible to get in the forums, its always 2 busy!!!

sure you can take your kit off but not if it's molded
and if you want your kit to look nice you would have to mold it

Yah i live in canada, saskatoon non the less. an mx-3 is my gonna be my frist car and i'll have it for along time cuz i have a some nice plans for it. So if were to put a body kit on, and take it off for the winter, isn't there tape that needs to be put on? Or is that just to make ur holes...i dont' know much about installing body kits...

as far as the rear in front is concerned..it's only bolted so you can take it off like you want...some use tape for the skirts..i prefer screws..2 in the front and rear wheel well and one where the door sills are...
it also depends of the quality of the skirts...if you get them all torn up well good luck..you'd have to use tape for this one..either way you can take them off for winter but screws are easier

well I used fiberglass..really hard to work with but is really strong..fibergalss is green and for finishing I use some red putty I bought at canadian tire

hmmm sounds interesting...the puddy stuff? would that be the same as white lighting? how long did it take, and what was the price around...i know a bit about it, sound tediouse.
