2002 neon

Does anyone else with a 02 neon have idle problems?? i took it to the dealer and they're telling me nothing is wrong and that the car shaking at stoplights is normal i know this is not normal so if anyone knows what the problem might be let me know.

Re: 2002 neon

well you might have what we call, power steering switch sticking problem. This is a problem that the power steering switch has two settings one for under 50 mph, one has for over 50mph. When you come to a stop, sometimes it sticks open, and it drops the rpms to a lower rate, and it shimmies. the way to tell is to let it shimmy at the stoplight, and then turn your steering wheel left or right, and it should pop out and go back up to normal idle. but it could be other things, but I know it could be, i have had it since i got the Neon.

Neon idle

I also suffer with the Neon's idle. When I turn the wheel at low speeds or at a stop, I think the car is going to stall. Is there a fix, such as; replacing the power steering switch. thanks
