Window Tinting Ques

Im about to get my 01 accord sedan windows tinted. Got it from the dealership and it says its "tinted" but the windows are CLEAR they said it protects you from UV or whatever but it seems kind of weird since the windows are clear and all sun can come inn? Its bullsh*t so im getting it tinted. Does anyone know anything about the clear tint that was on it, and if thers any problems with putting aftermarket tint on top of it? Also, i live in los angeles i heard its illegal to have the front two windows tinted but i mean the whole city has the front two windows tinted and it is in my other 2 cars, so anyway what number tint do you guys have?? I was thinking 25% rear and 35 front, any1 have pics of their tints or anything, ok thanks bye!

All car windows are tinted. I might look clear with the naked eye, but they have a slight tint to prevent soem uv rays. The stock tint is actually colored glass, so there is no problem putting tint over them. As far as the legal aspect goes, i dont live in CA so i dont know. I would recommend just asking a cop. Thats what i did.

what percentage of tint do you guys have? And how dark is it?

The limo tint is 2.5% and we all know what that looks like. The difference between that and 5% is barely noticable at least to me. Once you get to 15% and on up its starts getting lighter really quick. Also check with the laws, just ask a cop, and see how dark you can have it. If you get it less than 15% be ready to have a gun pulled on you if you ever get pulled over, cause they cant see what your doing.

i thought limo tint was 25%? 2.5? lol damn its dark, il probably go with 25 back 30 front

I have 3% on the back 3 windows and 35% on the front... it's not legal to tint the fronts in California. I usually drive around with my windows down just to reduce the chance that someone will pull me over.

The new issue of Super Street magazine has the tint laws from all the states.

I live in California, its illegal to tint the front passenger window anything darker than 75%. Cops need to see the driver clearly. My sister put full dark tint, had to take off the front. For the Rears, you can go as dark as you want.

Yes, people have dark front tint because they don't know the CA laws, Recently on Channel 9 news L.A. they did a story and said cops could pull you over for front tints.

All colors are okay except blue, red and yellow tints.
