Ok here's my dilemma. I want the B16A1 but it's expensive ($1,800 Canadian) and I'm wondering if it's smarter go with a ZC ($800 Canadian). In terms of power the ZC's 130 is obviously a big difference between the B16's 157 but is it worth spending the extra money for more power, keep in mind I'm a university student. Also it should be noted that I would have to get an Si tranny from the D16A6 if I got the ZC (which wouldn't be that hard or expensive to get) because that price on the ZC doesn't include the tranny because they assume you're dropping it in an Si, not my CX. But the ZC is a direct drop-in as opposed to the cost of the mounts I would need to buy for the B16, or so I've heard. Help me my fellow 4G enthusiasts.

Re: HELP: which engine should i get?
What exactly do you want help on? you didnt really ask any questions and the ones you did as you answered yourself. Dont build your car by what other people tell you to build, do what you want. The power differnce in the b16 and zc is obvious as well as the price, like you said.

My question was really if the power difference is sunbstantial enough to overshadow all the other variables I mentionned. I've never driven a car 4G with a B16 but I have with a ZC so I wouldn't know just how faster the B16 would be. I just wanna know if I if that extra 27hp is really worth the money. Sorry for the confusion.

Ya a Turbo would be great but now we're talking about a lot of money, more than just the B16, which is money I don't have, so keep in mind its probably gonna stay N/A.

Re: HELP: which engine should i get?
well end of the day its BHP per $ , i would go with the ZC as its a good chepa engine and good power for the money but a B16 for the extra 30 BHP but then again your paying $1000 for 30 BHP , its your decision, the ZC is a tunable engine just not as much as the B series

Ya I think I've decided on the ZC, thanks for the advice. Besides, the ZC is a lot faster to get installed here in Ottawa since one of the shops up here in Ottawa do nothin' but drop ZC's in 4G's all day.

Re: HELP: which engine should i get?
you dont have to use an si tranny, use your cx tranny, it will work.

Well the CX tranny will fit fine, but it's a waste of money to use it because the gear ratios are different from the Si's, so i'm getting shittier performance. Might as well get the tranny that it's supposed to go with since i can probably pick one up at a junkyard for $100.
