smoke alert!!
Help,
I have a 2000 s model that is just giving me alll kinds of problems. The latest problem is the cars smokes excessively when you start it after it has sat for a period of time. Once it warms up it doesn't do it. I'm sure that it is burning oil somewhere internally, being that I have had two oil changes in the last six months and the oil was so low that it didn't even register on the stick. What do you think could be causing this? If I don't figure this out soon, I'm afraid the motor is going to seize up on me and that would not be good at all!!!! |

This is my first time doing this so I hope it works. I have a 1999 Milenia that has a similar problem. I have an excellent mechanic (not a Mazda dealership) who spend three days taking the engine apart and replacing all the valve seals to see if that worked. The seals needed to be replaced. That cost about $ 1,800.00 CDN and that was with a deal on labour and new platinum plugs. The problem still exists. Cold starts lots of smoke. Hard acceleration (e.g. passing) creates a big puff of smoke. Normal driving, not so bad. On long highway trips and hard driving (lots of big hills) I use about 1 litre of oil per 1,000 kilometers (1 quart / 800 miles). My mechanic is stumped. We will try heavier oil on next oil change. Any advice would be wonderful. Love the car anyway but.... |

Hello, also new here and just purchased my first Millenia yesterday. But the problems sounds like the seals in the supercharger are gone. Is very expensive to fix, almost as much as a new supercharger. I was told by a Mazda mechanic to watch for this when looking for one to buy. |
