steps to and how hard to replace distributor

I have a 91 Honda Civic LX 1.5L Manual. I think that I need to replace the distributor. I have a Haynes repair book and some stuff is kinda foggy. I am not the most knowledgable when it comes to cars, so is this something I could do. I want to get a distributor from the junk yard. Any help is needed!

Pull off the wires, undo 3 bolts, pull off distributor.

You will want to some how do your best to make sure you put the new one on just how the old one was so you can maintain your ignition timing.

Re: steps to and how hard to replace distributor

other than the plugs and the 3 bolts holding it on, all you need to make sure you do is the alignment of the cam notch and the key on the distributor. When you get the old one off be sure not to turn it, then match the key from the old one to the key on the new distributor, so the timing will stay correct.

^^^ what they said, and if the timing gets a tad off you can loosen the bolts and turn the dizzy to correct a degree or two of timing.
