Question tape

Hi, I was wondering what the best tape would be for masking and making racing stripes that doesnt let the paint bleed underneath. Im gonna paint on some stripes on my AMT Shelby GT-500, so I want it too have a nice clean edge.

Thanks for any comments

Re: tape

If done right Tamiya Masking Tape would work fine.

Re: tape

I trust only Tamiya Tape for body, or normal scotch tape work too for smaller job (interior)

If you'r going to use scotch tape just remember not to leave it on too long (I would say take it off in less than a day). I once left it on for two weeks and stuffed up what was a pretty good paint job.

woah, I've tried that before and that only spells trouble for me shen I pick up the tape if it's dried already. Be careful removing the foil after painting.

I use that too. Work ok for complex part that need masking. Quite hard to get a perfect line. Everyone should have a bottle of that (it's about 3$) but this stuff smell sh*t !!! (not to get offensive, it really smell that )

Always remember this, the thinner the paint, the more layers of tape you will need. I reccomend Tamiya masking tape because it won't damage your basecoat.
