Re: supercharger or turbo

You've got low compression and some tq on your side, I say turbo, because you'll end up with more hp that way.

Turbo, Because you wont have to run boost all the time, and you will have your motor last longer

Re: supercharger or turbo

A turbo is going to do more for your car. If you had a mustang or any muscle car, I would say sup charge it, but not a b18. My opinion..........fISH

Re: supercharger or turbo

Also turbo runs of exhaust gasses and the super charger runs off of a belt which takes power from your engine to make power. That's not a real big issue with supers however. What the other guys were saying is the truth. It's hard to really get as much power out of super chargers and their upgrades as it is a turbo application.

There's a turbo 02 Mustang GT here in Omaha, Nebraska and all I can say is dear lord. Suddenly you hear an unexpected Fisssshh(when you usually hear the whine of a supercharger.)and that thing is off like a bat out of hell. Even the heavily modded dsm's, turbo hondas, and the one guy in this town with the RB26DETT get scared.
But yeah anyways go turbo.

Re: supercharger or turbo

Depends. What are your goals? If you want a autox car with 180~ish whp, go with the sc. If you want power over 200 whp, you want to drag, or anything else, go with the turbo. You're in maryland, so you don't need a carb sticker. Check out www.turbokits.com for decent prices and a big selection.

Re: supercharger or turbo

i got for a supercharger because if you don't know how to fix up a turbo that it's going to be even slower than before..because on of the guys here in my town ran all motor 14.7 and when he went turbo he ran14.7 again.. and every other ls turbo are hella slow all ran low 15s. the only one in my town that was successful was an ls turbo thatn ran 13.7. so you got to really know a lot about turbos before you can fix them up..otherwise i would go supercharge

Re: supercharger or turbo

Go with turbo. Superchargers benefit bigger engines.
