Installing a tach

I have a 94 grand am 4-door SE with the 3.1 V-6. My cluster doesn't have a tach. I want to install one. I am not going to get a big, flashy one, just a medum sized one to mount on my dash, where and how do I hook this up? Does anyone have any detailed instructions, possibly online? I heard you need to hook it up to the coil, if so, how do I do this and where is my coil at? Thank you.

I would go to the dealer and get a wiring diagram, that is what i did, i have a 2.3 though. That way u can just tap in under the dash on your ecm harness with a t splice. Its just a print out with all of the color coded wires.
