84 bmw 733i troubles
84 bmw 733i troubles
problems starting up after it's been running for a while my 84 bmw 733i is having problems starting up from time to time. it can run good for only a certain amount of time then it doesn't want to start up agian. car smells like gas a lot. some times car can't get started at all. i ve also notice black smoke comes out... can anyone help

Check the connection to the motronic temp sensor (located on the thermostat housing). There's a resistor wired in series with the sensor, and it's easily broken. Also, check your AFM to make sure it's functioning properly. Roadfly and bimmerboard have lots of info on both situations.
