removing door panel/replace side mirror

I have a complete side view mirror unit ready to install. It looks simple enough with the wiring harness and bolts. I have been told I need to remove the door panel to access the bolts and wires.

How do you remove the door panel? Are special tools required? Is this replacement something a driveway mechanic can do?

screwdriver will remove them it be careful with the plastic holders on the panels.
