Just had a very close call.

Ok, here's the deal. Me and my cousin were watching a movie at his house when my mom calls all freaked out because she has to tape something that starts in 10 minutes and there are absolutely no blank tapes in our house. There weren't any at my cousins house either so me and him jumped in the protege and tore off towards shoppers to pick one up and try and get it back in time.

We got the tape and were on the way back to my house doing great, we had made a trip that normally takes my mom about 15 to 20 minutes in about 8. Then we turned down my road, a little dirt road with only about 10 houses on one side and trees on the other. But, it also has a very sharp S turn about 100 feet or so from the top. Now this is usually nothing, my cousin has drifted it a thousand times and has gotten this particular corner down to a science. However, tonight there was about 4 inches of highly compacted snow on the road and it was windy and dark. The worst part though was some idiot had parked his damn POS rusted cavalier on the side of the already narrowed road(because of the snow banks) right at the entrance to the turn.

We were already set up for the drift around the turns so he had to abort that at the last minute to swerve out of the way of the car. We made it around the first turn flawlessly and it looked like we were gonna be able to pull it through the second but the wheels caught on a rut in the snow and we got spun 180 so we were faced the exact wrong way to drift around the turn. Now he didn't want to risk trying to bring it all the way around so he tried to swing it back the other way but unfortunately we had to much momentum and just kept spinning so he just swung it the other way fishtailing trying to get it straight unfortunately we pulled a counter drift and instead of fishtailing left and right it went all the way around left 540 so we went a full turn then made another half rotation before we hit the banks.

Luckilly the plow had just been through so there was a good 3 feet of very light snow and another 4 feet or tougher stuff between us and one of my neighbors yards. The scary thing is this particular neighbor has a very short, but wide driveway to park his cars next to each other instead of one in front of the other so another five feet or so ahead and we would have gone ass first right into his echo.
