96 BMW 318is - $7000 CAD - 60k klms - should I buy

Hey all-

A buddy of mine is a consultant. Bought the car brand new in 96. It currently has less than 60,000 klms on it. The car has not been neglected nor has it been meticulously maintained. It would sit for weeks at a time in undergound parking and was driven mostly too and from the airport! AC compressor needs to be replaced, otherwise should be in good working order. At $7,000 Canadian, should I but the car. Anyone know of typical failures / probelms / issues with this model?
