Question for the pros

Come this spring/summer im gonna have my chunk of change saved up for a car i wanna turn into a tuner and work on (love this shit), im looking at honda and Acura and figured id ask you guys for suggestions...im gonna have about 5-7 grand to blow on the car then go from there...Im thinking right now Integra 94 and up...or 92-96 prelude(like the body style), so anything you guys can do for potential and and whatsoever, opinion is greatly appreciated...

P.S. Definatley looking for boost and nitrous eventually, so keep in mind for potential. And those dart blocks and heads are nice looking too...thanks guys

Re: Question for the pros

You want an opinion, what to get between a prelude and an integra? Well, I would get an integra. Why? Both are great handling cars, the Prelude was on the car and driver best handling cars for lots of years, and the Integra Type R is the best FWD handling car in the world, obviously sharing the same chassis as the 94+ Integras.

The Prelude is heavier than the integra, around 300 lbs more. Weight dampens acceleration and usually affects a cars manuverability. The B18 engines have lots of aftermarket support, more than the H22, they have more available supercharger and turbocharger kits and more availability in parts. Why? Because the 1.8 liter Honda/Acura engines are the most sought by tuners.

Why dont you buy an Integra GSR, which has a very nice engine 170 hp 1.8 liter and if you dump a Greedy kit, or a turbo only using the stock internals you will be very fast. Very fast in my opinion is low 13s quarter mile.

Re: Question for the pros

Well, depends on how much you want to spend. As far as looks, both of those cars, teggy and lude have their own strong personalities that set them apart from other cars in the road.

Other options? I would suggest a Civic Si 99-00, the one I drive ...but any performance oriented Honda/Acura car is most of the time better than the competition...Civic Si, Integra, Prelude, RSX...

i do agree those Civic Si's are sweet, i love em. Actually only civics i really care for. Problem is i cant seem to find those for like anything under 10k, and i wont have that much, so right now im thinking lude, because it seems i can get an S for about 4-5k and then with the rest of my money that i get(maybe save upa little more) i wanna buy the JDM H22a and do the swap because its pretty out with the old engine, in with the enw...very simple...sounds about right, right? corect me if need be, this is the impression i got from the swap guide from Aces
