eclipse turbo for neon
i know that the eclipse has the same engine as the neon does, my question is will a stock gst or gsx turbo fit in a SOHC neon? i went to the junkyard today and they had 2 turbos out of a 96 eclipse gst and i have a 95 neon SOHC sport, they offered me a pretty good deal on them but i wasnt sure if it would fit and work properly.

Actually they don't share the same exact engine. What you're referring to is the 420A engine. Also, I understand that the neon engine is actually not the 420A but is called the S4RE (SOHC - non-Magnum) and the D4RE (DOHC). To the best of my knowledge, the only thing they share is the engine block (420A engine block) but have different heads.
Now back to your question, you won't be able to put the turbo from the eclipse in your car without a good deal of work, if you're up to it. The turbo eclipse engine is the 4G63 and if you look at it compared to the 420A, they are backwards to each other. Not sure how hard it is to swap just the turbo out from the eclipse to the neon but I know it won't just pop in there. You might want to post this on the eclipse forum, you will get a more knowledgeable response on how to do this swap than I can give. Hope this helps
