No doubt I'll score one as a rental car next time I'm down that way... It certainly sounds interesting.

the vy was such a backward step from the vx - looks wise.... and the old 308 5.0 v8 is better than the 350 GEN3 5.7

No it isn't, the LS1 is far superior in every way- If Holden still used the old lump, Ford would be shitting all over them right now.

The VZ, however is exciting- it offers new gearboxes, a new DOHC all-aluminium V6 (190Kw) replacing the tired old 3.8 Pushrod Iron lump from Buick.

The Best Holden have ever designed/created it most certainly is.

The LS1 was done by GM in the States, not Holden.

I used to be able to blow away Holden V8's away in my mildly-tweaked Mondeo 2.5 V6, then the LS1 hit the street and in 1999 and all of a sudden Holdens got fast.....

Your saying the 5.0...305...is better then the LS1? If your 305 is anything like the 305 in the States, i'm guessing you're HIGHLY retarded. TBI..TPI..doesnt matter, it doesnt match the LS1 in any way. Atleast in the US. The US Spec 5.0 305 in TBI made an astounding 130 WHP, and about 170HP in TBI. (The LS1 makes 290..)

Re: Its Hear Its Finally Hear

Edit: Maybe the 5.0 is the best engine CREATED by holden, but doesnt have shit on an LS1.

Re: Its Hear Its Finally Hear

i owned one origional 5.0L for my first car and it was a great car but personally i think that the GEN3 is one of the worst engines created by holden. (nothing to do with power or anything, i have one in my fourby). but they main reason is that holden have tottally stuffed up with the GEN3 and it is rare that you will find one that hasnt been rebuilt.

Holden didn't create it, any faults with the engine are the responsibility of GM in Detroit.
