Like it says on the end of each box, the red is coarse, blue is fine (same as original compound) and white is the finishing compound. These new compounds aremore liquidy than the old paste-type tamiya compound. Cheers Farrokh

Re: Tamiya polishing compounds
"Course" means it is harsher. will remove more paint and not leave a very smooth shiny surface. I imagine it will remove slight orange peel and imperfections.
"Fine" is less harsh, removing less paint and giving a better finish. Finally "finish" is the last step giving a high shine provided the surface is smooth and blemish free already. I guess Tamiya intend for you to use them as a system begining with the "course" and finishing with the "finish". Depending on your paintwork you could jump in at any stage. If in doubt I'd just get the "finish" tube first it will be of most benifit IMHO. Oh, and welcome to AF

Ok...
If I polish with *finish* compound and I get high shine, do I still need to wax my car or not? |

Re: Tamiya polishing compounds
Wax is not a necessity but it will help protect the paint and stop dust sticking.
