Think this was a good deal?

Hey guys I just bought an 89 turbo 2 with 128,000 miles on the body, and 8,000 miles on the brand new crate turbo engine put in by mazda. Pretty much mint condition. It has custom racing wheels, custom dual cannon exhaust, and new paint.
I got it for 4,300. But I do have to ship it from texas to california which is costing $750. Think It was a good deal?

Re: Think this was a good deal?

i dont want to negative or anything but there's a few things that I see.

1) the mirrors are Series 4 (87-88) mirrors.

2) it looks like the driver side moldings are Series 4 also. maybe i just need glasses.

If it is a real 89 Series 5 TII, then your price is pretty good. The average going price for S5 TIIs around anyways from $2000 up to $9000 depending on mods. Lets pray that when you get your car that it is up to par. There's never any way to know what condition its in until you check and drive it yourself.

If you're in the Bay Area, hit me up and I can do a diagnostic for you. If you're in socal, I'll be moving to San Diego in November.

Re: Think this was a good deal?

Hey thanks for the tips. I know its the real thing cause I did a carfax on it and they say what it was when it sold from the dealer. But hey I could be wrong too. I'm going to look into it cause I dont know the differences between all the series yet.

Re: Think this was a good deal?

might have just switched the mirrors... many reasons for doing it... maybe they didn't like the S5 style, maybe they broke one S5 and could only find S4's in the junkyard, etc.

nice car man
