deer damage

got to see my car for the first time in 7 months this weekend. Drove a little rough. Hasnt had enough lovin. Not much damage from the deer that hit it.
Took paint off the front of the car dented the the fender right up front where the edge of the hood is. I am so tempted to get a bra to cover it up but i dont really like the looks of them. I want to get it painted but i think performance is key at this point. I want to get the carb rear and gears put in it. Going from stock rear gears and stock carb. ZZ4 crate from GM is finally going to get the parts that it deserves to be surrounded by.

Re: deer damage

deer are the worst, except for maybe the smaller critters like coons or opossum, the ones that you cant hit or go around.

what gears are you lookin to put in?

WTF??? How big was the deer and how fast were you going? Did you just graze it? The last deer I hit (yeah...I know) bent the frame of my full-size 4X4. After that, I was "nervous" as hell about hitting one, and that was BEFORE I got my car. When I got the SS, I think I graduated to "all out paranoid".

Re: deer damage

that would do it, i figure the fiberglass and plastic wont hold up too well against a full sized buck. im definitely careful, but ive had a couple close calls where i saw a deer on the side of the road, just after it had darted across...

My wife says the deer was pretty big. I didnt hit it myself. I was in the middle of the arabian gulf when it happened. She saw it way ahead of time. She slowed down to almost a complete stop and the deer jumped into the front of the car, hit and broke the windshield and rolled off. The road she was on has no shoulder just trees and cliffs. Thank God she wasnt going fast it could have been really bad for her. I told her that the deer was either a ford fan or just sick of the noise.
