Putting engine back in tips

Ok so im still in the process of rebuilding my engine (the 420a one) But when i took it out because of the lack of space between the frame and the engine i chipped the crank pulley when i took it out, I was wondering if any one had any tips to make it easier when i put it back in?

Like leaveing the crank pulley off untill its in.

Re: Putting engine back in tips

leave the crank pully off until the engine is back in place...all you have to do is take off the right front wheel and plastic guard and put the pulley back on..otherwise you'll fuck around w/gettin the engine in for a good 3 hours. i experience it about 3 times and finally realized on the 4th that it goes in MUCH MUCH smoother w/o the pulley on.

Yeah i tried to take off the crank pulley before i took it out but i diddent have the puller tool, so i couldent.

What about the motor mount bracket? That got in the way also, but i dont think that can be put on when the motor is in.
