cat/muffler

i just cut the cat and the muffler out of my 86 GT, what is anyones reaction to this good/bad, i love the way it sounds and so far it does not seem to be hurting anything

I plan on doing the same and just clamp on a borla muffler where the cat used to be and put an angled tip on the muffler to direct the gases downward. Doing this should weaken the TQ and strengthen the top end. I figure if you shorten the exhaust that should help and if you put a muffler on that is 2" in/out you should restore the backpressure. But I don't know much so all this is just theories.
