Question random technology downpipe?

hey i just ordered a "Random Technology High Flow Catalytic Converter" from PFYC.com with a 2.5 outlet insteat of the 3 inch....i have a dynomax exhaust and stock exhaust manifolds...was 2.5 the right choice or should have i gotten the 3?

That is probably the right choice for your current setup. Although I think a 3" downpipe, 3" cat(or no cat), and a 3" res would be better for the 3.4 pulley.

Both of the downpipes with different outlet sizes have the 3 inch downpipe and 3 inch cat entrance. It is 2.5 from the cat exit into the catback. But yeah, you made the right selection for that exhaust system.

thanx, i was wondering if the whole thing was 2.5 or just the outlet...but u answered the ?? its just the outlet. also i have an intake, 3.25 pulley may change it to 3.4 for now, DHP 1.0 and throttle body....hopefully soon i will have the SS intercooler

Oh yeah thats right Joe. Thanks for clearing that up. I guess you would only need the 3" opening for the SLP Loudmouth catback or a custom 3" catback.

Although if you are planning on doing the 3.25 pulley I would cut the 2.5" flange off along with the 2.5" tapered section, weld on a 3" flange, and run 3" pipes back to the Y. But since you already have the dynomax 2.5" catback I guess that isn't a worthwhile option.
