Question Battery replacement for Diablo

Hi All,

My battery seems dead (I sure hope it's just the bettery anyway!) and I want to replace it with summat good. ANy ideas on brands / model numbers? An AC Delco freedom would be nice, they always did me proud on previous cars.

A guide to replacing the battery would be helpfull too - I gather it's a rtear-wheel off job...

Cheers!

I *was*, but spring is nearly here now and it wouldn't do to miss out on the spring/summer crusin' PLus, the usual round of car shows and so on starts up, and I love meeting the people there. With a Diablo, people meet *me*, not the other way round

Seriously, I haven't made much effort to sell it, but I will towards the end of this year I think.

Driving a Diablo is like smoking, sooo easy to get sucked in, but damned hard to stop! (not that I smoke, but the analogy still stands...)

Once I to had to replace my battery and I can tell you it's one hell of a job!

I guess it's not getting the old battery out and the new battery installed, but taking the massive wheel off is a bit of a job. And the thing that really pissed me off was the panel that covers the battery, everything would have gone perfect if the panel would have lined up! That alone took 60MIN!

Sorry about that, I got of track with anger.

Ok here we go:

1) jack the car up (note:besure and put padding in between the jack and the jacking point).

2) Gently...gently unbolt the rear left wheel and lift it away from the car.

3) Now, once you have the wheel off, look to your left towards the door and take off the wheel well panel (consult manual for detailed description and sketch) .

4) Once you have that off, the battery should be sitting right there. Now gently take off the connections and install the new battery.

5) And last but not least, work backwards, just put everything back where it was, AND DON'T FORGET THE COVER FOR THE POSITIVE CONNECTION. And try to align that panel, and make sure its on correctly. Note: be sure to set your lugnuts to (88lbs ft), and be sure to consult the manual regularly.

hope this helps a little!
