Radio Issue

Here's a strange one. The radio is in safe mode. I have the code. The book says for technical reasons the first number must be a 1 or blank. My code is 4 numbers, 0741. I have tried all different combos. I can't get this thing unlocked.

I have tried blank, 741

1074
1470

and others.

If it's 0741 then toggle the #1 preset button once. The first digit can only be 0 or 1. Perhaps it is 1741 or the radio was changed. Are you pushing mode & scan again after you enter the code?

I found out this radio was changed a couple of times due to issues. I need to pull it out to get the SN for the dealership. How does it come out?

There is a special set of tools that pop into the four holes on the front to release it. They are cheap & available at most auto parts stores.

Picked them up yesterday. It's a crap design. Why not use screws?
