Courtesy light in door...

Ok now no laughing. I just wanted to know if anybody knew the correct way to remove the lense on the inside door light on a 99' Silverado. I can get it pried back a little bit but, I'm not sure if I should keep prying on it to see if it will come off. IE I don't want to break it.

Do you just pry one end and it is suppose to "Pop" off?
I need to take it out as the bulb is burnt out.

I guess since I'm posting I'll ask this question as well. Same vehicle, the Dome lights only come on with the driver side door and not the Passenger door. Does anybody know why? I can't seem to find your standard Door pin switch.

Any suggestions.
Thanks guys....

You don't pop off the lens. You need to remove the entire door panel. Don't worry, not so hard as it sounds. Pry off the the panel on the armrest that has the window switch and then unplug the switch. Pull off the panel by the mirror. Then pry off the trim around the door lock and handle. There are three small bolts to remove. One at the bottom of the door, one by the handle and the other by where the window switch is. Undo them and then lift the panel up and off. Be careful because the speaker and the light in the door are still connected. Just unplug the light to change the bulb.

Ok sounds easy enough. I'll give it a go tonight. Glad I asked. I'm sure I would have kept trying to pry that lense off and that would have sucked to have broken that. Cheers I'll FYI after I've tried fixing it.

Thanks

Timing is everything. In this case it was good luck for you. I just had my doors apart to put in new speakers.

Re: Courtesy light in door...

All I can say is thanks a million. Never have I owned a vehicle where it has been that easy to take the Door panels off. Light Changed.
Cheers
