b16 trans on LS motor

So someone is interested in buying my integra shell and I'm not sure if they want the motor to go with it or not. So if they decide to buy the car and not the motor I'm going to use the LS in my hatch. So my first plan of action is to get rid of the broken LS trans and I was thinking of replacing it with a b16 trans with lsd. I'd still be sticking with cable trans of course. How would this combination be? Would it be hard to get traction off the line with the b16 trans? And would all the power of the motor be put to its full potential still?

Also, I'm looking into a set of cams for the LS and I was looking at crower cams. The stage 4 seem to be what I really want but I'm worried about the "radical idle". This car is still going to be my daily driver and I need it to be reliable. I've never seen a car with big cams idle before so I have no idea what to expect. http://www.optauto.com/webstore/prod...=yes&dept=1163 <--thats a link to the stage4 cams. It also recomends a managment system. Are they just talking about a a/f controler or just bigger injectors? I'm kinda unedjucated in cams and would like any info you guys could throw my way.

Re: b16 trans on LS motor

Ya, the b16 tranny is going to be much quicker than the LS tranny.. It makes a big difference.

One of my concerns about that however would be if you do a lot of highway driving.. At 80mph my B16 is reving @ 5,000rpm wich is high but not too scary for a B16 because its meant to rev whereas I dunno if an LS would be cool with that. I do a lot of long highway trips (hour drive to work) so I would be kinda scared to rev the shit out of an LS constantly like that. My B16 loves it though.

Also, why stage4 cams? I mean, I realize you want as much power as possible, but the fuel managment would probably be kinda wild for some extreme cams.. Then the idle thing.. And the detonation thing.. Some applications are meant for just racing and for people who need their cars everyday it might give trouble.

Re: b16 trans on LS motor

What cams would you guys recomend? I'm looking to build the head to be able to rev to 8,000rpm, so I want it to be able to make power up there too, so thats why I was looking at the more aggressive cams.

Re: b16 trans on LS motor

Just maybe consider something slightly less wild than the most extreme cam they offer.
