black lm

can anyone photoshop the orange lm and change its color to black? wat does mr.selldorff do for a living? the reason why the mclaren f1 is still considered the best car ever is because none of the other automakers want to build a competitor. remember, they're businesses, they need to make money. i think that any automotive company could surpass the mclaren f1 today.easily.

Re: black lm

The two black LMs are reported to look like this:

...which is the way that the first place 1995 LeMans finisher looked.

Mr. Selldorff appears to be involved with a number of companies, so you could probably call him an investor, consultant, business partner, etc.

The reason the F1 is still considered the best supercar is because no other car competes with it on an overall level. There are cars which are superior in certain aspects, but there has not been one which has exceeded all the standards set by the F1.

This is partly due to the fact that businesses need to make money, and partly due to the fact that you're very unlikely to see supercars heavily influenced by a single person as the F1 was. True, there was a whole team of engineers working on the F1, but Gordon Murray had the final say in the way things ended up.

You're probably never going to see another supercar designed by a single person in any reasonable quantity. Engineering is done in teams, which has the side effect of making it very difficult to get a single, cohesive vision for what a car should be like. For instance, on the Mercedes SLR there are many things which Mercedes had an input on, and it's clear that Mr. Murray would have done them differently. Thus there were certain compromises made on the project.

The only car that would beat a McLaren would be another McLaren, and it would probably have to be an improved F1 at that.

That's sort of innaccurate. While the paint colors apparently match, the two Black LMs are not finished with the same livery as the LeMans winner. Here's a description of the two black LMs from someone who has seen them:

"Black top, dark grey bottom as per the Ueno Clinic cars. These have bunting flag style graphics down the side in Red Blue and Yellow"

= = = = =

The car that was finished to look identical to the LeMans winner has been determined to be GTR #09R. The car we used to think was #09R - the "West-liveried Adrenaline Program" GTR is now suspected to be GTR #04R.
