Le Mans Comp - Marcos LM600 1996
Although I can't enter the contest, I thought I'd share one of my current crop of Le Mans builds with you. This is the Chevrolet powered Marcos LM600 campaigned at Le Mans in 1996. That was the first year I travelled to the race, with a bunch of buddies from Univercity, it was kind of our graduation party! Anyway, the Marcos was running in GT2 against a horde of Porches and for a while was showing them the way, but it just couldn't last. Anyway, we fell in love with the ugly little car straight away... so here it is.
The kit is a PM 1:43 by the way, it's oringal '96 vintage so the detail is sparce but it should look nice when it's done. Photos are courtecy of my new camera, so they may be a bit rough as I'm still learning how it works. As all ways, let me know what you think!    BTW - the last photo is just a rest-together to check for any fit problems after the paint! Hence the wheels are wonkey and the back wing is a little askew.

Jem Marsh would be proud.
Stellar build-up so far of Britain's other overpowered independent. Marcos has been giving TVR fits since the 60's. Marcos 1800 - 1964  Marcos GT - 1969  Marcos Mantula - 1984  Marcos LM - 1993  Marcos LM600 - 1995  Marcos Mantaray - 1999  Marcos TS250/500 - 2002  Marcos TSO - 2005   Awesome cars, the Marcoses. Wish I could go Mantula shopping.

Very cool Lotus Man. You say the detail is sparse but the molding on that PM kit looks exquisite, particularly in the cockpit.
Although as a judge you are excluded from the main categories you can still be in the People's Choice popular vote.

Lord knows how long it's been since I updated this! So long infact I seem to have deleted the original images... best dig them back out again I supose! Any way, laquer is dry and rubbed out and the decalling has started. Quite a few more to go before I can polish the body...
 The windows have been cut from their vac-formed sheet and the fit to the body sorted... lot's of resin had to be ground off to get the best fit and then the interior was hand painted flat black. I need to tidy some of the yellow, but as it's acrylic I can do that just before the final polish. Well, that's all for this time. Don't hold your breath for the next update... I seem to have about 10 things on the go at the moment!

Good question... I have the '96 Lister on the shelf to do sometime, but it's the Daytona car that was destroyed in a crash so not for this comp!
