FS: 240sx Convertible 5spd RB20det professionally installed

Hey all,

This is very painful for me. But, I need to find a buyer to take on an awesome car from me.

Wife just told me it's time to have a baby. I pretty much freaking out about that! Plus, I have had a couple bad months on comission lately... SO I really need to get my money back out of this project.


Here's the deal.

It's a 1992 240sx Convertible. The chassis has 160k miles on it. I have hired DDX (Drag Drift Autox) in Seattle, WA to do both engine swap and 5 spd swap on the car. RB20det 5 spd has been professionally installed. I don't know the miles on the engine, but most JDM motors are around 50k miles. This is a very clean job, and the new owner will be very fortunate that I can't afford to keep this car.

The car is black in color. The convertible top is in decent shape.. but not perfect. There are a couple nicks and scratches and one dent on a front fender. NO RUST. The interior is pretty good overall. It's a 12 year old car and show age like one would expect.

The work done on this car is the strength. I wanted to do this swap myself, but don't trust my own work. So, I hired pro's. Check out drag drift autox's web site! They did all the work.

5 spd conversion, LSD, power steering, fully operational cluster, wired correctly. It has a new Walbro fuel pump and 300zx fuel filter. It has dual 10 inch fans. Everything was done right on this swap. The guys who worked on it, both own rb20's and they said this one runs smoother and seems more powerfull than theirs.

Here's the only problem. It needs a new water pump. It runs awesome, but after you get on it for a while it starts to overheat. They have tested it fully and it needs a new water pump. The pumps are available for around $150. It's the labor that is expensive. So, if you are able to turn a wrench you will have a gem of a car available very cheaply.

It is so close to perfect right now, and that's why this hurts so much.

I have calculated that I have around $6500 in this project. I would love to break even on it. Convertibles (non-accident, clean title) usually go for over $3000. I have another $3500 in the clip, swap fee's, parts, shipping, etc...

This car is well worth the money! All you need to do is replace a water pump and you have a gem.

The is currently in Bremerton, WA. At DDX. It runs. But shouldn't be driven cross country. It can be drive locally. Professional shipping costs are most likely somewhere in the $700 -$1000 range. If you have truck or SUV you could tow it on a dolly.
