Car Audio Question

Hey, i drive a 93' lesabre with 36 k. Nothing to brag about but i was considering dropping subs in it. I don't know the first thing about them though. My friend offered to sell me his Kicker Comp's. There are 2 of them and they are 12 inches (with the box) they are wired to the amp which is 1000 watt between the two of them ... hes offering this for $350 and promising me its well worth it. Does any one agree or disagree or have any suggestions?

thanks,
matt

Re: Car Audio Question

Kenwood makes an entire line of audio/video including speakers.

If the stuff is in good condition and is working properly it sounds like a good deal. What I would ddo is get the model numbers and do a quick check online to see what the stuff sells for. But at 300.00 I do not think you can go wrong.

for 350 you could probly get a better setup, but have you heard this setup yourself? if you like it then get it, but if you haven't heard it then maybe explore your options a little more

if you meant audiobahn subs, i wouldn't reccomend them, they aren't very good quality, and you won't be able to find 1000 watts for 150$........

for 350, i'd say that 400 watts is realistic

I have heard the set my self and its surely loud enough for me but i noticed this set unlike many others i have heard would drown out the guitar, vocals, etc. all i heard was bass and lots of it. if i did purchase it am i able to control the volume of the bass and set it to what i think is appropriate?

so the concensus is to purchase or not, its loud enough for me and all i really want is something to get the job done and sound good. im not looking for the best but i surely dont want the worst.

Re: Car Audio Question

go for it. you know it's not the best setup in the world, but it's loud enough for you to the point of overkill on the bass. all you need to do is tweak it a little to your personal taste and you got yourself a good deal.

if you want it, then get it, if it works for you, why should we tell you what sounds best to you?

Audiobahn's power ratings are...."optimistic" at best
