Do you think the 5th gen was a huge improvement over our 4th gen?

Here's another good topic I thought I post. Just give your opinions.

huge improment, sorry to say.

As far as the civic goes, nicer body, available vtec, nice interiors, honestly I can't think of anything they either didn't change or didn't improve.

The CRX to a Del Sol was like shitting on the mona lisa.

I personally like the 4th gen hatch over the 5th gen. The 5th gen looks too much like egg on wheels to me.

Egg on wheels it is. The only cool thing different I like about it is how the lower part of the back hatch pivots down to open.

I like the looks and everything else mentioned but rust seems to be a bigger problem.

Re: Do you think the 5th gen was a huge improvement over our 4th gen?

well i dont see any up sides to the 5th gen myself i think the seats and gauges eat nuts the body is nice but 4th gen > 5th gen for looks but a huge + for 5th gens is there much eaiser to swap B H and now Ks into.
I'm going with 4gen for what i like

Re: Do you think the 5th gen was a huge improvement over our 4th gen?

I cannot stand 5th gens, like doug294 said, they look too much like eggs, the only good thing I can say about them is the tailgate. But in 1996..especially 1999, the hatchbacks are awsome looking, everything about the body and interior look good.

Re: Do you think the 5th gen was a huge improvement over our 4th gen?

it had some decent engine and other improvements, but the body is so very different than the 4th gen...

i wouldn't mind having a 5th gen, more aftermarket support, but i love my 4g4d

Re: Do you think the 5th gen was a huge improvement over our 4th gen?

5th gens are nice.

OBD1 is the most tuned OBD generation and easiest, with p28s being available and usable on everything from D15B to B18C to B20VTEC.

92-95 VX and CX hatch has a weight comparable to a CRX

all 92-95 cars came with side-draft-throttle-body MPFI injection

92-95 civics dont have the horrible front crossmember that 4th gen civics and 2g CRX's have, which leaves ALOT more room for b series swap headers, d series 4-1 headers, and turbo down pipes.

Overall, i would say that 5th gen is the best civic ever made, with 4th gens coming in at a very very close second place.

Re: Do you think the 5th gen was a huge improvement over our 4th gen?

My favorites body wise is the 4th and 6th gens, performance 4th and 5th. Trying to find me a 6th gen hatch right now for a reasonable price... not working out good though.

Re: Do you think the 5th gen was a huge improvement over our 4th gen?

ok....now its my turn to state my opinion.....I have had 2 4th gen HB's....1 was an si....and now a DX.....I also had a 5th gen HB....and now I also have a 4th gen 4dr....and a 6th gen coupe......but by far the best is the 4th gen.....much sportier to drive....when I would hop into my 5th gen or my 6th gen....the car just seems so damn big....they loose their sports car feel.....I prefer the 4th gen to everything else out there.....who cares about easier engine swaps....I'd much rather be original and spend the time and effort putting somethiong into my 4th when it technically doenst belong.
