New exhaust, need help, very urgent!!

So I just went down to an exhaust guy I knew, and he did a 2.5" pipe, a nismo down pipe, and an apexi n1 muffler on my car. My exhaust is LOUD, and its too loud for my baby's ears...he's only 11 weeks old.

it hurts my head, makes me feel like I'm in an airplane, and gives me a terrible headache. I don't have the money to yank it off, and throw it away....what can I do to make it quieter? how come its so bad? I did this on a previous car I had (Honda Civic) and it was perfectly fine! Can anyone tell me what went wrong?

It also eats my gas really bad, a normal 2 1/2 hour trip on a regular unleaded tank of gas, now took a full tank of gas on half a tank regular unleaded, and half a tank premium gasoline.

I need help, someone, please!

Re: New exhaust, need help, very urgent!!

What year is it? 2.5" loses a lot of back pressure. The most common mistake people make is putting on giant exhaust without changing the induction system and fuel curve. You may gain a little when the hammer is down but all around driveability and economy will go down. As far as the loudness, first make sure it is insulated by rubber hangers and not touching the body anywhere. If ok I'd add a resonator and it will quiet it down a lot.

Go back and put a different muffler or see if there's room for a resonator
