Sweet merciful crap! Your racing in a Suburban? You got guts, those things aren't exactly the safest cars on the road. Then again it might actually be the safest, for whoevers inside it. The cars nearby aren't so lucky though.

Oh well, as far as your problem goes it sounds like you've just discovered you cars govorener. Basically it's a little thing that cuts power when you reach a certain speed. Like a honda accord is govorerend at 185 km/h. So when it tries to surpass that speed the accelerator disengages so you can't go any faster.

If you want to max out your motors rpm and go as fast as posible you can get a reburned computer chip for it. that will let you go as fast as your car can go before drag or redline takes over. you can get one from Summit for around $100-$250 depending on the brand and the type it is.

Suburban Racer!

Yeah, our friend above is right... youve hit your rides speed limiter. just replace your chip and that should fix it... by the way, who won the race and what the heck were you racing?

on a chevy that is the fuel pump cutoff you hit, roughly around 100.
chevy did it b/c they were cheap and did not put speed rated tires on their trucks/suvs. meaning that over 100, you would have tires that blow up. sooo... they cut the fuel pump at 100...
get a hypertech power programmer, and you can ditch the limiter, and also program your shift pts, etc, and get 20ish hp out of it...

I don't know what your tire/wheel size is but if you can find them in your size BFG's Comp T/A's are nice I think you can get them in S rated and Z rated (correct me if I'm wrong) which would both be rated plenty high enough. plus they get very good grip so you'll be able to launch better too. I'd love to see a big assed Suburban launch hard that would be cool as hell

on some early and mid 90s ford and chevy trucks, when u hit the limiter if u let of the gas and turn the key froward like youre restarting the engine the speedometer will reset to 0 even though youre still going 100 or whatever your shutoff is, then u can keep accelerating cuz the computer thinks youre going 5 when youre doing 105, 20 when youre doing 120, etc... not sure if itll work on such a new one though. i know this cuz around here its not a big deal for someone to race an suv or truck and that trick is pretty common knowledge.
