Re: fuel pump ?

what my point is, is all over these forums it is said that if you run your tank under a 1/4 of a tank you will need to change your fuel pump because it will die faster.

Re: fuel pump ?

In all likelihood it will die more quickly since the fuel in the tank keeps it cool. The fact that yours hasn't is great news, but I wouldn't necessarily wear it as a badge of honor.

If you drive your vehicle regularly, it's always wise to keep gas in the tank.

Take care,
Jerry

Re: fuel pump ?

not saying I am going to wear a badge. I just can't see why GM would put a pump in the tank if it can't take the heat. So if you are under a 1/4 of a tank you should quickly find a gas station when you are on a road.

I agree Tweaked.....if GMC wanted you to keep tank 1/4 full because the fuel pump was an inferior product, they should let you know before you buy, not after you are given a $750 bend-over invoice for a new pump. Another reason Ive bought foreign more often. Rediculous.
