Question DIY clear corners

I purchased the one-piece JDM headlights for my 93 sol and was wondering if there was an easy way to get clear corners. Like most of your have probably noticed, there is a dumb orange cap covering the turn signal bulb. In the inside of the housing there is a screw connecting the orange thing to the headlight, but it seems impossible to get at unlesss taking the front off of the light. On my friend's sol i took a screw driver and pried the orange cap off, but since that screw is there it didnt come out without a fight. After about an hour of cutting the cap into hundreds of tiny pieces to fit thru the hole, I finally got the job done. After the fact I realized that I scratched the heck outa the shiny reflector in the inside, not too pleasant of a site from up close. I'm sure its not that much different for the JDM one piece vs the stock housing. I was wondering if anyone has successfully found another way to get rid of the orange cap, or if you have been able to take the front plastic casing off of the front of their headlight/corner light.

put the whole headlight in the oven for 10 minutes at 175 then pry the whole lense off with screw drivers. remove the amber reflector put the lense back on and throw it back in the oven...did this on my 97 civic headlights and it worked great!

Re: DIY clear corners

Yeah that's a great idea Bubsman has. I have JDM one piece lights and I just pried the front off (carefully!) with screwdrivers. Start on the top of the light it's easier. Good luck and don't melt your light!

Alright, thanks for the input, but the oven thing seems too risky with the $600 lights. Even though I'm scratching the hell outa the reflectors in the inside, I going to pop them off the screw and cut them up. Thanks again for the responses.

so you are afraid to do what bubsman suggests (which i have also heard works well) because you don't want to take a chance damaging the $600 lights, but you plan to go ahead and do like you did to your friends which you know for a fact caused damage?
