Unhappy Big Problems 1986 Gl 4Dr.

Okay heres the deal,
I got the car a year and a half ago and lots of things have gon wrong with it... howerver my dads a mechanic so a while and some money later he mixed most of them. Anyway the biggest problem now is that the car died on main street (rush hour and everthing) for no apparent reason, so a tow later and it was at my dads shop, i said "screw it" and let the car sit for about 6 months at my dads shop (out side in winter). So we finnaly took a look at it the other day and tried to start it and abosolutly nothing, it turns over but WILL NOT start after numberous time of turning the key. We Found that the feul pump was fine. We checked all wirering.....fine as well. We poor some gas down the carb and it starts. We removed the main hose from the fuel pump to the carb and turned on the fuel pump and its spittin' gas out everywhere at 6 psi.

Anyway I have no idea whats wrong and I'm worried that it might be something to do with the carb, (its a "feed-back" Carb. apparently)

If you have an idea or anything that might help PLZ PLZ PLZ tell me

99% chance your drivers side timing belt broke.

Don't worry, it doesn't hurt the motor (non interference)

Pull the distributor cap off and have someone crank the motor. If the rotor doesn't turn, the timing belt is broken. (driver side T-belt drives the ca, which drives the dizzy gears)

Report back and we'll go from there.

Do yourself a favor and get OEM ones from the dealer and do both at the same time.

If it starts with the fuel poured into the carb then chances are it is not the timing belt(s), it has to be something inside of the carb or between the line and the carb I would imagine. I will look on my computer in the morning to see if there is anything you can look for.

Oops, you're right.. I missed that part.

Check your fuel filter.

Also, since its a feedback type carb, there should be an ECU under the dash.. check for codes.
