tranny mount bolt broken
i found a 96 cavalier, 2.2 5-speed for sale, the guy said a bolt going into the tranny for the mount is broke off in the tranny, im wondering how hard it would be to fix? the car is a good price looks good, guy said it runs great but that bolt is broke, and the cv joint boot is pulled back

Hmm.. an easy-out should take care of the broken bolt leftovers. Failing that you can drill it out and re-tap the hole and replace the bolt.
Same with the CV boot. Just pull the axle and replace the joint-if it's been running uncovered-it's got crap in it and is probably damaged. If there's no slop in the joint-you can wash it out with any good parts cleaner-repack it with CV joint grease and install a quick-boot kit on it. The quick boots don't last as long as the originals, but they're effective for a good while. |

is the tranny bolt something that can be done without pulling the tranny? and isnbt there 3 bolts? not 2? if thats the case shouldnt 2 be ok for awhile?
