Oh god here we go again. You'll need to give more info if you want an answer. How much are you looking to spend? How much hp are you looking for? What are you planning on doing with the motor (na, all motor, sc, turbo)? Answer all of those questions and people will beable to help you fingure out what MIGHT be the best for you to do. I say might because even with responses it boils down to preference.

B16 is a nice swap for that gen of tegs. B16s are very buildable, good for both NA and FI, they fit easily into that generation of tegs, have a great rod/stroke ratio, etc, etc. You could also do b18c1, b18c5, ls/vtec, b17, and many more. I'm not sure if an h22 will fit, though.

Re: 1990 teg ls best motor b16,b18,b20?

i donno there was some h22 integra mounts on ebay, thaught it might work. but you might have to mod to make it fit.
<-- that turbo is a t3/t4 hybrid revhard stage 2 turbo my b18c1 block was shaved to make it fit. Of course what am i thinking not everyone can mod there ride to make it happen. Sorry for the idea, didnt mean to flame the thread.

Re: 1990 teg ls best motor b16,b18,b20?

I say b16a, 160hp right off the bat. the b16a does have less torque than the b20, and are a dime a dozen but unless you eventually do a head swap it won't be as fast in the long run. That's just my opinion.
