Unhappy battery change

I can't get my car to startafter changing the battery out for a new one.\
Am I missing something?

1. Battery cables not tight enough or defective.
2. Improper reconnection of cables,
that is, positive cable connected
to negative battery terminal.
3. This last possibility is actually very
rare, but it could happen: the new
battery is bad.

Did you have the battery flash charged when you bought it
If so and stuff like the headlights work, try disconnecting the battery for 30 minutes or more to reset the computer.

Re: battery change

I've also blown fuses in the past while hooking up the battery thanks to some sparking as I'm fumbling to get the terminal threaded in place. I think all the ignition ones save one are back next to the battery anyway, so it ought to be easy to look into.
