Fan relay switch on a 1988 lx
Hello I have a 1988 ford mustang lx 2.3L I just got it and relized the fan doesn't kick in I was woundering where the fan relay switch is can anyone help please

forget the relay switch and hard wire it into the coil power wire (red wire running in the the coil that's under the black cover on the drivers side a little to the back of the battery) The 87-89 stangs had a BAD problem with the fan relay switch going out on them everyone i've seen either has it wired like mine and my mom's or they ran a switch inside. If you do it like i did then you don't have to worry about turning it off when you shut off your car and it only comes on when in the "on" position and not the "accescory", but make SURE you use the size wire for the fan that it's useing (not sure but it looks like 16-18ga) cuz if you go bigger you'll melt the wire running to the coil (had my experince with that cuz i cheated it and didn't use a fuse link to put it in spent 6 hrs pulling parts till i found that the wire had melted.)

just make sure you have fuse links in there or you'll burn something...can't stress that enough spent a day that i could have worked on fixing a little wire.
