My g/f was driving home in her used 97 Elantra when it shut off on the freeway. She lifted the hood and described how water was shooting from the coolant reservoir out on to the engine.. Fine, I removed the thermosthat which was stuck shut and checked the oil.. Start the car and hear a hard knock. Tow it home thinking it was the oil pump that was bad since the low oil indicator would light at low RPM. Started it up later for more evaluation and the engine seized. Probably broke a rod when the water flow stoped.. On the flip side the temp gauge never showed any signs of overheating. 1997 Hundai Elantra 88K R.I.P
