Ford F-150 Airbag system
Hi,
I have a 99 F-150 and I was driving home this morning with my youngest daughter in the front seat. I turned the passenger airbag system off and noticed that the light stayed on for about 30 seconds and went out. When I got home, I turned the truck off and cranked it back up and watched the light. The light will stay on for about 15 seconds and go out. I am not sure what that means, but usually, the light will stay lit when the passenger airbag system is disabled. What would be causing the light to go out after about 15 seconds? |

It could be a faulty fuse or something simple, but i recommend taking the thing to the Ford dealer ASAP. If it's something major, the worst case scenario is you driving down the road with your daughter in the passenger seat and the thing suddenly bursts out and slams her in the face, or God forbid you're in an accident and it doesn't deploy.
Now i seriously doubt the worst case scenario is going to happen, but with something like airbags you always wanna be a little overly cautious.
