bad idle,. miss ? vacuum guage needle moves

1987 22R-E

one new injector,
new PCV
new fuel filter
new fuel pump
disconnected EGR valve
new spark wires
plugs old

engine misses at idle, especialyl when hot,
will stall sometimes especialyl if in gear at dead stop, sill miss miss stumble die just cant keep itself runnign too well a tlow RPM, but at the instant you hit the gas to go its all there full power great like it should be

vacuum guage shows 20 inches of mercury at idle and needle consistently fluctuates a few inches not alot of inches just a few within good range but its constant and even miss with the idle speed,

other than new plugs what else can i do ?

cat converter plugged ?

Assuming that there are no other symtoms you are overlooking, I would hazzard to guess you have a bad vlave(s). Pull your plugs and "read" them, you may find a clue here.


cat converter plugged ? No because it would run worse as RPM and load picked up.

try adjusting your valves, check your fuel filter, replace it, you might have water in your gas??? a possibility. Is your emmisions system all hooked up right? Vacuum hoses all connected right? Check your timing. Damaged distributer wires, cap, rotor?? If you hear a looping sound of a bad chain rotating could be timing chain, but doubt it. Air filter? Leaky EGR valve? Camshaft lobes, burnt vlaves? All possibilities, good luck!
