depends on the year, I bought an 81 for $2000, but it had a lift and 33's. I've looked at some 90's and above and they go for around 10,000 and up

I had to replace the clutch shortly after the trade, and now my timing chain needs replacement. My buddys truck worked great until the carb- stopped working. So reliabilty factor wasn't that great, but hell it's fixable.

toyotas are very reliable. it all depends on how many owners have had the truck before you i guess. if you get a newer one that is barely used it will go forever as long as your not to harsh on the truck. i know this guy that has a stock pick up with 400,000 miles on it and all thats been replaced is the clutch. its crazy.

dude the 22-R engine is bulletproof! I think toyota used that engine for 15 yrs or something like that on their trucks. The engine is immortal. I have 210,000 miles and so far I had to replace the clutch, and the timing chain, but everything ealse is fantastic. Everybody I know that has a toyota, and has kept good care of them go up to 300,000 miles no prop. Then when shit starts to go wrong rebuild and get another 100,000 if you want. Easy to work on, and parts are affordable. And for 4x4 toyotas I think are the best import mud cruncher there is, close to jeep though, to answer you question, if your planning on getting a trunk, get a toyota. But make sure you do your research on the truck though. Ford trucks suck balls, mazda sucks, dodge is good, nissan??? I think they are cars posing as trucks.

s10's are good trucks too. I forgot about those, to my knowledge their are no 4wd s-10's, i could be wrong, but they are made well, whatever you do, do NOT get a ford ranger, thats a good recipe for poo.
