Drop it like it's hot.
Suspension

If the pic is the one you are looking at i would be taking a trip to the bank to get some coin to buy it.
Is it a collectors item yet ???
If it is you would be better leaving it the same as the day it was made.
....but then it would like neat slammed and riding on 18" wheels

Can't remember the team/driver name though . . .

The one I am looking at has had some work done to it. New bucket seats, obviously new paint, allready been lowerd some. It would look a little better with porsche rims thought My self, i really dont know about the older rear engine VW's. Backin the day, my dad used to race them. The would go insanly crazy with them, swapping out the motors with porsche motors. I will try and find some old pics. I have one pice where he is romping on a old chevy. Early import domination

Hey man, if that first one you posted is the one you're getting, it's sweet. Although I'm all for progress, I think the rear engine VDubb's are actually quite potent. You have got a sweet ride and I'm sure you're gonna make it look hotter than it already is.

I'd get one that's not in great condition. That way, you can build it as you fix it, you know? You can choose the color of exterior and interior, customize however you want, rebuild the engine with what you want, and have some fun doing it.

If you haven't already, buy buy buy. You wont get to many chances at a car like that.

he's right, It is rare enough as it is so I'd get it. Maybe I would mod it though. My dad used to do Demolition Derby with an old Beetle.

hehe, no demolition derby for that car. I am seriously thinking about that particular one. The price seems right, and the interior is in almost as good of shape as the exterior. I would definatly work on the motor some, but chopping the top? is that hard? seems kind of complicated to me. I dont know though. I still am waiting for the guy to email me back with more pictures.

How much is it?? IT looks good, and you could proably make it even awesomer.
In a really old magazine I have (from the 60's), one guy put a 396 rat motor in the front, took out hte front seat (sat ont he back seat), put in a hurst 4 speed, bigger rear tires, soem detail stuff, and BLEW THE SNOT OUT OF EVERYONE ELSE!!
That sounds like fun!! :

sorry, too many smilies

Well, for that particular car, the guy was asking $1800, but it had some small tranny problems, but was still drivable. No big deal. But, he has sinced changed his mind, and is fixing the tranny, and jacked the price up. shitty. Then, I found another car this one here: But the guy thinks now he is going to trade it to his friend. I didnt ask what the trade was for, but told him I would buy it if he decided to sell again. This car was also going for $1800. If anybody out there happens to see one of these, or if your bored, and want to check around for me That would be awsome. I dont want a bone stock rust-bucket like the second blue picture, I would like one with a little work done allready. It has to be drivable, because I will fly out and drive it home. Anyone up for the challenge?
