04 Trailblazer( Climate Control Question)

Hello TBers,
04 Trailblazer with auto climate control. Should I hit the off bottom each time I shut the engine off? Will the compressor engage on start up if I don't? Is it bad to start the engine with the compressor engaged? What is the proper procedure? My thanks to all who reply. Bob.

Auto-Climate

I have an '04 with the auto-climate control. I leave mine set. Near as I can tell....the compressor doesn't kick in for a couple of seconds after start up.

Something else...that may or may not be related. We had a Taurus SHO with auto-climate control. The manual in that vehicle said to leave it set on auto mode during hot, summer type weather. Leaving the auto setting on allowed the pressure inside the vehicle to be vented or released....and preventing the window seals to be blown out.

So, I guess for me....I'll keep leaving it set on "Auto" until told otherwise.

Wayne
