Does any one know where to get some cheep, new, stock/ non lift, rear leaf spring packs for an XJ?
My rear end looks like I’m hauling around some boulders. -JC |

They can make sure the Jeep sits at the correct height and is appropriate for the load and ride you want. If you go out and just buy springs and install them yourself, you are SOL if they are not to your liking. Also installing leaf springs can be tricky, as sometimes you must pre load them before the bolts line up, a dangerous procedure. |

Re: looking for rear springs
I looked into this and I found a place that will do it but it is 2 hours from where I live. I would rather just get new ones, there has to be somewhere online that you can get stock ones for a reasonable price. Plus I dont like taking my Jeep the the shop for any thing, I like the adventure and knowlage that comes from doing it myself.

Re: looking for rear springs
I've never bought anything from them, but Quadratec sends thie catalog out and they sell the stock leaf springs and all the related hardware. Both regular and heavy duty...52 and 64 (respectively) dollars for the springs themselves...but if your going to replace them you might as well replace the bushings and any other parts under there that may be worn...have them send you a catalog, if nothing else it is cool to browse through :-)

...and be sure to have plenty of extra bolts lying around since the ones that you have on now will probably sheer off. Spray everything down really good with a heavy duty derusting solution for three to five days before you start. A drill and a tapand dye set but be handy to have too.

Re: looking for rear springs
is it hard to remove the rear shackle, I was thinking about replacing that since it is cheep. do the bolts that bolt directly into the frame usualy break when you try to remove them sounds like a PITA, i snapped of a few bolts when I instlalled my lift kit.
